Yea, I know, we are living in a digital world. It’s very evident by the amount of people on Facebook, using ipods and ipad’s to conduct their lives. I’m guilty, I couldn’t do my business with the effectiveness as I do with out my iphone. So, why Rasputin Music, where music is sold in the old medium of CD’s and records. And movies in VHS? Because it’s cool and kind of relic, plus it’s a fun place to check out.
Besides it’s very inexpensive. There is a ton of used CD’s, DVD’s and VHS tapes for a lot less than you can buy them online. All you need to do is come home an copy the thing into itunes and now it’s digital. Anyway, If you haven’t check out Rasputin yet, it’s pretty cool. They also have cool posters and other movie memorabilia which can make for good gifts.

Papapavlos hasn’t always been in Lincoln Center. In fact the started as a little whole in the wall ini back of a center off Pacific Ave. Their great food has propelled them into what they are now.
Monday Wine Nights! Every Monday they feature a different winery. Go and enjoy dinner along with some fantastic wine specials showcasing a particular winery. Check the schedule for upcoming to see what wines they will be pouring.
The food is great. I have never had a bad item from the menu, so what ever looks good to you, will probably be good. For this reason, this is a must “thing to do” in Stockton.

A long time North Stockton staple, Stockton Joe’s, is a great place to eat. It was a favorite in the family, when the lived here, so I thought we should visit and get some good food.
The American Italian Cuisine serves up some of the best ravioli and chicken parmigiana in town. Stockton Joe’s features both lunch and dinner menus including “Little Joe’s” child menu favorites.

If you are looking to broaden your horizons and try new things, as I have done in this project, head over to Fine Wine of Stockton. Fine Wines is a great little shop in Lincoln Center South, which has many different varietals (the wine term for different types of wines) to choose from.
If your not sure what you like or are new at drinking wine, like I am, head over to Fine Wines on Thursday evenings at 6pm for their weekly wine tasting night (see schedule). There you will be able to sample different varietals and you can get a sense of what you like.
When you feel like you have it figured out, or just like drinking, Fine Wines has planned a Napa Valley Bus trip on November 21st. Take the worry of drinking and driving away by riding on the bus to one of worlds best wine locations!

Last night was one of those nights. After a long day and no one felt like lifting a finger to make dinner, clean up and everything that goes along with it. So, we head over to Payter’s Grill in Lincoln Center.
Payter’s is an American grill that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The sandwiches and french fries are a big hit, but mostly I love the old-fashioned milkshakes which are made with real ice cream, nothing fake there! Some say Payter’s has slower service, but all their meal are made fresh over the grill one at a time. This type of cooking is worth the wait.
If you’re a sport fan, one of the dining rooms is filled with pictures and autogrpahs of former and current athletes from various sports. It’s cool to check out while grabing a bit to eat. The owner, Pete Pijl, has owned Payter’s for the last 27 years and has been a baseball coach for 23 years at St. Mary’s high school

I have eaten there a number of times and from reading the reviews on yelp, I can say most people have not had a bad meal at Bud’s.

The other day my wife and I did not want to cook. It was hot, we were indecisive on what to make, and neither of us felt like standing in the kitchen. Luckily, there are many great restaurants to choose from in Stockton. Great, another decision to make! We choose to head over to Lincoln Center (day 2 of 365 Things to do in Stockton) and pick a place to eat. We got there and saw that Domo’s, a new Japanese restaurant had just opened. Score, something new to try!
Domo’s is a sushi and Japanese restaurant which also features 4-5 teppanyaki tables. Teppanyaki is when the cooks make the food on a grill right in front of you. The inside of the restaurant is very big and beautiful. It has been remodeled from top to bottom since taking over the old Gulskins building in Lincoln Center north. But, we didn’t go there to stare at the light fixtures and new decor, we went to eat.
The food was very good. My wife had a California roll and asparagus roll, while I choose to go with the sesame chicken entree. We both enjoyed our food and were even more pleasantly surprised when we got the bill. 20% had been taken off for happy hour. All food and drinks were 20% off from 4-6 pm!
So, if you are looking for a good place to eat and for something new to do, try Domo’s Japanese restaurant in Lincoln Center.

The August 20th Lincoln Center Live Classic car show seems to generate the most interest. Many stores will be giving out free gifts to attendees. The Classic Car show is a fundraising effort to a help a local charity and will feature musical performances, a huge display of classic cars, brand new vehicles and fun for everyone.

Looking for a tasty treat on a warm summer night? Head over to yogurt my way. They’re a self serve frozen yogurt shop were you can get as little or as much as your stomach desires.
In each location they serve 8 different flavors of yogurt and countless toppings. Other than the standard chocolate and vanilla, cake batter, oreo cookie, blueberry and strawberry are often found in my cup. My favorite is vanilla topped with almonds and cookie dough! Yum. What is your favorite?
