The more I look, the more events I find happening in Downtown Stockton.  There is another great event happening this Saturday May, 29th.  It is the 2nd annual Mayor’s Hike and Bike event.  It is a walking and bicycling event which tours many of the historic spots in Stockton.

The events starts at the Stockton Ballpark at 8:00 a.m. and will last until 11 a.m.  There is both a short course and long course for the riders and walkers.  The walkers have three scenic options, though Stockton’s historic downtown, waterfront and beautiful neighborhoods.

Bicyclists have a choice of two biking routes, a shorter route of 8.7 miles up to University of Pacific and a longer biking route, 18.7 miles, out the Calaveras River trail to Buckley Cove, then returning via UOP, the Haggin Museum and back to the Ballpark.  See the route maps!

After the hike and bike, Join in a post-event breakfast, at the Ports Ballpark.  Served from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM, just $10 each, kids under 6yrs, $5, 2yrs and under, Free!

This event benefits the emergency food programs of two local agencies: Catholic Charities and the Emergency Food Bank.  To register go to www.stocktonhikeandbike.org, or www.Active.com
