Lollicup is one of my teenage son’s favorite spots to go after a hard days work (school). They are a coffee and tea place but not in a traditional way like Peet’s or Starbucks. One of their main menu drinks is called BOBA.

What is Boba?
Bubble tea, was originated from Taiwan , in a small island located in Southeast Asia . Tapioca had long been a traditional dessert and it was a chanced invention by a small vendor outside of a school. He added tapioca balls to shaken iced tea to attract students and it had been an instant success. This new beverage concept had been wildly popular and quickly spread throughout the island and subsequently, the Asian community around the world.

If you happen to be in Downtown Stockton for a performance at the Fox/Bob Hope Theatre or maybe you need to stop by the San Joaquin County Court house to file some evictions papers, those aren’t fun, stop in to Freedom Coffee Company for a cup of fine tasting brew. Freedom coffee is a cool, modern looking coffee shop on 22 N. Hunter just East of the court house and next to the new San Joaquin County building.
The owners are local’s and care about their regulars as they know many by name and by drink. I watched as they started making a customers drink before they had a change to order. Talk about service. See the reviews on Yelp!

The fruit bowl is a farm market located on East Waterloo road. They serve freshly picked produce, yummy baked goods, nuts, jams, local honey and local olive oils. After speaking with Ralph and Denene, part owners of the Fruit bowl, the cherry harvest should began around the middle of May, and peaches shortly thereafter in the beginning of June. This family run business has been serving the freshest produce for over 60+ years.
As if the produce wasn’t enough, the fruit bowl specialize in fruit pies, using the fruit right off their orchards. After taking one step into the bake shop I was hooked. I bought a macaroon and a lemon bar and they were delicious. The other pastries, cookies, muffins or biscotti, looked fabulous too, and you can enjoy them with a cup of our wonderful Italian imported coffee, latte, mocha, or hot cocoa.
In the summertime, the Fruit Bowl has olive oil tastings. Representatives from various olive oil companies are on hand to discuss their products, offer tastings and food pairing samples, and answer questions. Another popular event is happens near the end of summer; “Art Comes to the Orchard” exhibit and sale. Check out their events page for all the details.

Peet’s first opening in Berkeley, Ca and has been brewing coffee since 1966 ; it shows they are great at what they do! The local Peet’s store is located in the Stone Creek Center at the corner of Pacific Ave and Robinhood Dr. I love the coffee and the staff always is friendly. Not a coffee lover?
