Day 78 of 365 Things to do in Stockton: Buckeye Appliance

Posted in 365 Things to do in Stockton, Ca, 95203 on June 15th, 2010 by keebler – View Comments

Buckeye Appliance and antiques is truly an amazing place in Stockton.  It’s not just an antique store, but a museum of the past.  One step into the shop and I was transported back to my childhood kitchen and dining room.  Yes, Buckeye Appliance carries

antiques for the entire house but Tom Lawson, the owner, real passion is for antiques gas stoves.  Tom and his staff (his family) restore old stoves to their original form, and are they beautiful! I encourage anyone who is looking for a unique gift idea or just want to be reminded of the quality items of the past to stop in and visit the shop.

The store also is the home to many architectural items one might find in an old home.  Tom has a knack for saving these items from older homes before they are destroyed.

Head in to see a piece of history.  Tom has acquired one of the few remaining original lanterns off the Golden Gate bridge.  This summer he will accompany it the the Antique Road Show in San Diego!

Buckeye Antiques is located on 714 W. Fremont Street, just a few blocks down from the Ports stadium (Day 4 of 365 things to do in Stockton).

Day 44 of 365 Things to do in Stockton: The Treasure Trove

Today I was in search of the past.  I wanted to see what old cool items and knick-knacks I could find.  I thought of the Treasure Trove, and they didn’t disappoint.  I have always been intrigued by antiques and items of the past because it fascinates me on how they made! They’re different. They’re cool!

The Treasure Trove is located on Harding way just south of the Miracle Mile and is across the street from the SUSD Adult education building.  They sell furniture, glass, silverware, jewelry, signs, memorabilia, clothing, china, toys, kitchen/cooking utensils, telephones, pottery, light fixtures, stained glass, old photographs, and much more.  The merchandise is always changing so you have to check back often if you are looking for something special.

In addition to antiques and collectibles, they are experienced in appraisal services and estate sales of all sizes.  Consignment in their store is also available. If your in search of that unique gift I recommend you stop in at the Treasure trove.  Come on in and check them out!
