Day 7 of 365: The Great Stockton Asparagus Dine Out

Happy Easter! I hope everyone is able to spend today with family and loved ones.  The Dine Out continues until April 11th so you have one remaining week to take advantage of great freshly cooked local food.

The Stockton Conference & Visitors Bureau, following the successful Stockton Restaurant Week,  wanted to showcase locally grown asparagus and use in local cuisine.  ZuckermanFarms is working with local restaurants to provide the freshest locally grown Asparagus to their kitchens for you.  From April 1st – April 11th, local restaurants will be serving the spears in appetizers, entrees, desserts, and even drinks!  I think I’ll try the appetizers and entree, but will stick to the cheesecake and margarita’s!  Follow the Stockton Visitors Bureau on Facebook.  I recently went to Papapavlo’s Bistro & Bar in Lincoln Center.  I ordered the pastitso which was served with fresh local grown asparagus with my meal.  It was delicious.  The asparagus was flavorful and didn’t taste like a green veggie at all! There are very few green veggies I eat, but I am happy to say this in now one of them!

The are over 20 participating restaurants in the Dine out!

Here are a few that I have recently visited and had excellent meals.
