Spend an hour at the Oak Grove Nature Center and you will be pleasantly surprised. I’ll have to admit, I have not been to the nature center in over 10+ years. In fact, I went to Oak Grove Park for a different reason and got sidetracked when I saw the Nature Center. I just had to explore it.

Come to find out, the nature center has a lot of events coming up this spring. First an foremost is its successful Bugfest!
This is the 2nd annual Bugfest. Following last years successful turnout, the nature center is pleased to be able to provide it again. It will be held is this Saturday, April 10th, from 10am-4pm. There will be Live displays, guided insect collecting, insect races, kids games, face painting, raffle prizes and much more. The event is FREE, however there is a small $5.00 parking fee per vehicle. Well worth the day of fun.
The Nature Center also presents the amazingly cool “Astronomy in the Park” nights. There are 2 saturdays which this event will be held; Saturday, April 17th and May 22nd. The events last from 7pm-10pm. The Stockton Astronomical Society is kind enough to provide telescopes for stargazing between 8pm-10pm. Again, the activites are free and the parking is $5.00.
