Before there was Brookside, Before there was Spanos Park, Grupe Park was the place to hang. It still is. Grupe Park, located in the Beautiful Lincoln Village West, is one of the great parks in Stockton.
Grupe Park has 2 softball fields, a MLB regulation size baseball diamond, Full court Basketball court, tennis courts, play grounds and tons of open space to fly kites, kick the soccer ball around. It has a nice long path to walk, jog or ride you bikes around too.

Some of the world’s most beautiful parrots are headed back to Lodi this summer as “Lorikeets!” return to Micke Grove Zoo April 30 through October 2. We went a saw the Lorikeets last year. We took my son, and nieces, who were 2 and 8 at the time, and they loved feeding the birds as the sat on their hands.
Like last year, these brightly-colored and noisy birds will be housed at the zoo’s temporary Lorikeet Adventure area, an open-air aviary designed for public interaction. Uniquely adapted to be nectar feeders, the lorikeets can interact with visitors who will be able to purchase small cups of food for the birds. Once inside the enclosure, visitors may experience the birds landing on arms, hands and even heads as lorikeets are attracted to the food.
Entry into “Lorikeets!” is included in the price of Zoo admission. Adult admission is $4, admission for youth ages three to 17 years is $2. Children two years and under are free. Cups of lorikeet nectar will be available for $1.
“Lorikeets!” will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily and until 5:30 p.m. summer weekends and holidays. The Zoo regularly closes at 5:00 p.m., and on summer weekends and holidays the Zoo remains open until 6:00 p.m.

Are you fed with Forbes Magazine? A group of proud Stocktonians have gathered together to plan an event to show the world that Stockton is not miserable—it’s MAGNIFICENT! The event is hosted by the Miracle Mile Improvement District and will be held on Saturday April 23rd from 10 am to 2 pm on Pacific Avenue at Tuxedo Court.
The photograph will be taken at Noon looking at the crowd on the streets of the Miracle Mile. The Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic and a stage will be erected in the middle of the street. Volunteer entertainers will sing, dance and tell jokes to the citizens of Stockton, while volunteer artist are busy painting a wall mural on the corner of Pacific and Adams Street.
Saturday April 23rd – 11am
Non-profit organizations have been invited to set up information booths and KJOY and KWIN will be providing live feed from the event. The City Council proclaimed April as “Stockton is Magnificent” month and local school children will be displaying paintings and essays titled, “What I like about Stockton”. The Record will be on hand to document the event, along with a videographer and several photographers.
